About Level 2 Security Officer TopUp Course:
Starting from October 2021, Security Officers must undertake additional training to update their skills before their licence renewal.
The BIIAB Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) is tailored for individuals already possessing an SIA Licence to operate as security officers, aligning them with the latest requirements for Licence renewal.
This top-up course aligns with the SIA's educational and qualification standards and receives backing from Skills for Security, the security industry's benchmarking organisation, as well as the SIA, the governing body for the sector.
Please remember you can start the book in for a SIA Top Up course up to 4 months prior to your SIA Badge expiring.
You can also do this course to change your Licence from Door Supervisor to Security Officer Licence.
About Emergency First Aid at Work Course:
The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course is a top choice in the UK for workplace First Aid. Finishing this course means you're trained to handle First Aid in low-risk job settings, meeting the 1981 Health and Safety regulations. It's not just for workplaces, though. If you want essential First Aid skills, this course is ideal, whether you're a beginner or experienced.

Attendance: We strongly advise you to arrive at least 15 Minutes for the day's training to ensure a relaxed start, allowing time for refreshments before the course officially begins. Please note that punctuality is essential, and attendance for the entire duration of the scheduled timings is mandatory.
Eligibility: 18 + years, valid Emergency first Aid Certificate - Mandatory Requirement for SIA Licence & English to a Level 1 standard.
Assessment: Multiple choice question examinations
Practical Assessment: No
Applying For a SIA Licence: Having a criminal record doesn't always stop you from getting an SIA (Security Industry Authority) license. They look at each case individually, considering the type and seriousness of the offense, how long ago it happened, and whether you've shown any evidence of rehabilitation. You can use the SIA Criminal Record Indicator to see whether you will pass the criminality checks.

SIA Licence Renewal Fee: £184 however if you already hold a licence the cost for your second licence is half price (£92).

Entry Requirements:
Learners must be aged at least 18 or over.
Learners must be able to communicate in English (oral and written) to a Level 1 standard.
Learners must provide 1 x suitable photographic ID & 2 x Proof of address prior to the exam.
It is an SIA requirement that training centres must confirm that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid. Therefore, all candidates will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
This package includes the Emergency First Aid at Work course, you will need to complete this before you can start the SIA Security Officer Top Up Course.
Required Self Study:
This course includes a self study module, in your Welcome Pack you will receive information on how to access resources and assessments.
You will need a laptop to complete the self study module.
If you do not have access to a laptop please get in touch and let us know and we can book you in to a drop in session where you will be provided a laptop and working area for you to complete your self study.
Also please ensure you complete ACT online training (this is a mandatory requirement) and present your certificates on the day, more information on how to access ACT training will be provided in your welcome pack.
