About Digital Essential Skills:
This particular certification is designed with the express purpose of catering to adult learners who have little to no previous experience in utilizing digital devices or navigating the internet. The goal is to bolster their information technology capabilities and enrich their understanding of the digital world.
The curriculum has been tailored to cater to individuals who are motivated to primarily acquire and hone IT skills that can be applied to everyday life, enhancing their confidence and competency in the use of technology. It covers a wide range of subjects such as basic computer literacy, online safety, digital communication, and the use of commonly-used software and applications.
In addition to enriching personal life skills, the course also comprises elements of IT training that are applicable in a professional context, providing foundational IT skills for the workplace. This might be particularly beneficial for those who are undergoing training, are in the process of preparing for employment, or are in their initial induction phase at a job where IT plays a significant role.
By offering a balance between personal and professional IT skill development, this qualification ensures that learners not only gain technical know-how that is pertinent to their everyday life but also facilitates their integration into modern workplaces that require a basic level of IT competency.
